We’d like to offer a hearty congratulations to Maida Vale for cracking the Top 100 Folk Albums on iTunes.

Well played guys. It’s an incredible release.

We are excited to announce that our latest project to be completed is now available for download. “The Hymns Album” was recorded entirely at Pixel Records from December 2005 to April 2006 and features 16 different musicians playing on various re-arrangements of classic hymns, most over 100 years old. All arrangements were done by Scott Simmons, worship leader at “The Well,” a new church in Tallahassee, FL. The Album was produced, recorded, and mixed by Stratton Glaze and was mastered by John Scrip of Massive Mastering.

We’ve always aspired to blog the happenings and sessions that happen in our studio, but somehow we always get too busy. Instead, some clients of ours beat us to the punch with the best pictures ever taken in our little space. Check it out.

We are proud to announce the release of our latest project, E3 Live - Serenade Me. This was a live/studio album produced for Element3 Church under the direction of Worship Leader Eric Case, formerly of Willow Creek and member of VOX79.

The Live portions of the Album were tracked using our mobile recording rig, consisting of (2) MOTU Travelers, each connected to a Focusrite Octopre 8 Channel Preamp over ADAT, and daisy chained together via firewire. This rack was connected to a MacBook Pro via one firewire cable carrying 24 channels of audio.

The post production of the live stuff was done at our studio. There were minimal overdubs (no vocals!) and only acoustic guitar tracks that were not present the night of were added. Most of the studio tracks were also recorded live in the studio to capture a more perfomance based feel, including Psalm 100 which was tracked in a few hours with everyone but the main vocalist playing together live.

The E3 team of musicians did an exellent job crafting what could be described as a “community worship record” and the album fits perfectly with the church’s values of authenticity. Rather than hearing bland studio musicians with ultra-polished licks and sounds, the listener hears the yearnings and expressions of a communty of worshippers.
